TC SERIES DRIVER AND SETUP GUIDE
FOR WINDOWS XP




STEP 1: Download the Cutter Driver onto your computer.

STEP 2: Locate the file TC_Series Driver (ex. Desktop, My Documents, Downloads) double click to run, and extract.



STEP 3: The following screen is a Security Warning, press Run.



STEP 4: Press Extract. The file will be placed along with the TC_Series Driver.



STEP 5: The extracted TC_Series Driver folder will then appear.



STEP 6: Assuming that you already plugged the cutter via USB you need to access the Device Manager to access the Found New Hardware Wizard and install the driver.

To access Device Manager, use any of the following methods:

  • Start > Run > and type: devmgmt.msc
  • Start > Control Panel > Systems > Hardware tab > Device Manager
  • Hold the Windows Key + Pause Break > Hardware tab > Device Manager
  • Right-click My Computer > Properties > Hardware tab > Device Manager

STEP 7: Locate Other Devices and double click on CDC RS-232 Emulation Demo.



STEP 8: The CDC RS-232 Emulation Demo properties will display. Select the Driver tab and press the Update Driver button.



STEP 9: The Found New Hardware Wizard will open, select Yes, this time only and press Next.



STEP 10: Select Install from a list or specific location (Advanced) and then press Next.



STEP 11: Place a check mark under Include this location in the search then press Browse.



STEP 12: Search and select the TC_Series Driver folder that was extracted in Step 5 and press OK.



STEP 13: The Found New Hardware Wizard will look for the driver. This might take a few minutes.



STEP 14: The following message may appear during the driver installation, press Continue Anyway.



NOTE: The Found New Hardware Wizard will copy the driver files.



STEP 15: Once the driver has been successfully installed you will see the following screen. Press Finish.



NOTE: The following message appears notifying that the driver was installed.



NOTE: After installing the driver, the Device Manager will display a new entry called: Ports (COM & LPT) and under that: Communications Port (COM?). The ? is the COM Port number. It is important to know the COM Number assigned to the cutter as this needs to match with your cutting software.

STEP 16: Open the Device Manager and check under Ports (COM & LPT).

To access Device Manager, use any of the following methods:

  • Start > Run > and type: devmgmt.msc
  • Start > Control Panel > Systems > Hardware tab > Device Manager
  • Hold the Windows Key + Pause Break > Hardware tab > Device Manager
  • Right-click My Computer > Properties > Hardware tab > Device Manager



STEP 17: Double click on Communications Port (COM?), click the Port Settings tab and change Bits per second to: 38400. Press OK.
