ALTERNATIVE INSTALLATION
FOUND NEW HARDWARE WIZARD DOES NOT DISPLAY WHEN CONNECTING THE CUTTER


NOTE: If the driver does not install or the installation fails after connecting the cutter via USB and power on, follow these steps:


STEP 1: Open the Device Manager.

To access Device Manager, use any of the following methods:
  1. Start > Run > and type: devmgmt.msc
  2. Start > Control Panel > Systems > Hardware tab > Device Manager
  3. Hold the Windows Key + Pause Break > Hardware tab > Device Manager
  4. Right click the My Computer icon and choose Properties > Hardware tab > Device Manager
STEP 2: Locate Other Devices and double click on USB Serial Port.


STEP 3: The USB Serial Port Properties will display. Select the Driver tab and click the Update Driver button.


STEP 4:
The Found New Hardware Wizard will open, select Yes, this time only and click Next.


STEP 5: Select Install the software automatically (Recommended) and then click Next.


NOTE: The Found New Hardware Wizard will look for the driver. This might take a few minutes.


NOTE: The following message may appear during the driver installation, select Continue Anyway.


NOTE: The Found New Hardware Wizard will copy the driver files.


STEP 6: Once the driver has been successfully installed you will see the following screen. Press Finish.


NOTE: The following message will display notifying that the driver was installed.


NOTE: This is how the device driver properties should look like after updating.


NOTE: This is how the device manager USB Serial Port properties should look like after updating.


NOTE: The next step is to install the Cutting Software.
